Sticker Maker
Make a sticker from a photo: a white die-cut border that hugs its outline, a soft shadow, and a transparent PNG to save. Free sticker maker, nothing uploaded.

What is a die-cut sticker?
A die-cut sticker is cut along the shape of its design instead of as a plain square or circle, and there's usually a margin of white vinyl left around the edge. That white rim is what makes a cut-out read as a sticker at a glance.
This sticker maker draws the rim on screen, so turning a photo into a sticker takes one upload. It reads the picture's transparency. A PNG with the background removed gets a border that follows the subject, and a photo without transparency gets one around its frame.
How do you make a sticker from a photo?
Load a photo, a drawing or a video. If you want a shaped sticker, start from a picture with the background already cut away, and your phone can do that for you. On an iPhone, touch and hold the subject in Photos and tap Share; in Google Photos on Android, press and hold the subject, then tap Share.
Size sets how much of the frame the picture takes, which leaves room for the rim. Border sets the rim's width, Border colour its color (white by default), and Shadow how dark the shadow under it is. Backdrop is the color behind the sticker, and No backdrop leaves everything around it see-through.
The presets cover the usual looks: Thick border, On pink, Dark border, and Cut out, which drops both the backdrop and the shadow.
Border settings for a real die-cut rim and a thick cartoon edge
Border is a share of the frame's height, and the picture takes Size of it. So a real rim converts as its width divided by the art's height, times Size. An eighth of an inch around art 3 inches tall, at the default Size of 0.78, works out to a Border of about 0.033.
Thick border sets 0.05 and drops Size to 0.7, which gives you the chunky white edge of a cartoon sticker. With a square or wide picture, keep Size at or under 1 minus twice the sum of Border and 0.04. Otherwise the rim and its shadow run out of the frame.
A tall picture has less room at the sides than above and below, so for a 9:16 photo with a thick border, bring Size down to about 0.65. If you want shiny rainbow vinyl, the Holographic Sticker Maker adds foil to the same cut.
Why does the border keep the same width all the way round?
It's measured as a distance field. Two passes work out how far each pixel is from the picture, first along its row and then down its column, and everything within the Border distance takes the Border colour.
That's why the rim stays one width around tight curves and outer corners come out rounded, even on a plain rectangular photo. The shadow is that same shape again, shifted a little lower and faded out past the edge.
Any pixel that's at least half opaque counts as picture, so specks left over from removing a background get little rims of their own. Gaps narrower than twice the Border, like the space between an arm and a body, fill in with the border color, the same way a printer's cut line skips a tight gap.
Can I make a WhatsApp or Telegram sticker here?
Yes, as long as the frame is the right size. WhatsApp's rules for sticker packs ask for a WebP of exactly 512 by 512 pixels, no larger than 100 KB, with a transparent background, and they suggest an 8 px white stroke around the art. Open the gear beside Mosh, choose 1:1 and type 512 as the Width. Then pick Cut out and set Border to 0.016, which is 8 pixels of a 512-pixel frame.
We made one at those settings from an oval cut out of a photo. As WebP it came to 12.6 KB with everything outside the rim transparent. The same sticker as PNG weighed 241 KB, way over WhatsApp's limit, so WebP is the one to use there. A JPG would fill in the transparency.
Telegram takes a PNG or WebP with one side exactly 512 pixels and recommends a white stroke with a black shadow. For Telegram, keep Shadow at 0.5 and tick No backdrop instead of choosing Cut out.
Should the file for a sticker printer have the border?
Often it shouldn't. Redbubble, for example, kiss-cuts each sticker to the shape of the art plus about 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) and asks for a transparent PNG, so a border drawn here would end up inside its own. Its guide also recommends 2800 by 2800 pixels, which is more than this page saves, so upload your original art there.
Use this page for the listing preview, or for a printer that prints the file exactly as you send it. Cut out sets Shadow to 0. That matters when a printer traces a cut line from the file, because a soft shadow would widen the outline it finds. For words set as letter stickers, the Text Effects hub has its own generator.
