Gareth Tristan Evans (aka The Trunk of Funk) is currently best known for his artworks ‘My Father’s Books’ currently exhibited in various northern galleries.
His latest series, ‘Geisha’ is also creating a lot of interest in the art community. The series presents exciting, captivating images in an urban style. Drawing inspiration from a childhood 2000A.D. obsession and a classics degree, the blend of vintage, retro and contemporary is often clear to see.
He uses a mix of photography, digital techniques, hand applied finishes as well as traditional pencil and brush work to achieve the finished pieces. Much of his work from ‘My Father’s Books’ to the ‘In Layers’ versions of the Geisha series are presented within a 3D format.
