Tara McPherson is an artist based out of New York City, known for her rock posters often featuring distinctive female characters. She creates images that are thought-provoking and seductive, recalling many issues from childhood and good old life experience. People and their relationships are a central theme throughout her work.
McPherson was born in San Francisco and raised in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA with honors in illustration and a minor in fine art. Multiple books of her work have been published, and she’s lectured at art schools around the world. Her work has been featured in Juxtapoz, Spin, International Tattoo Art and more, as well as in the Oscar Award-winning film Juno. In 2011 she opened the Cotton Candy Machine art boutigue in Brooklyn. Now a home for promoting and exhibiting the artists that Tara has worked alongside over the last decade.
