Sam Flores is a self-taught American artist, illustrator and muralist, primarily creating urban- and graffiti-inspired modern art. His work has an art nouveau style and often plays with proportion. Flores grew up writing graffiti, reading comic books, listening to hip hop music and skateboarding, and he reflects these formative subcultures in his work.
As an artist, Flores also finds inspiration in Japanese Edo period landscapes, urban contemporary and graffiti-inspired montages, the pop surrealism art scene, Mexican pulp comic art and classical portraiture. His paintings, drawings, sculptures, designer toys and apparel are sought after by collectors. Flores has exhibited in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Japan and throughout Europe. He currently calls The Bay Area his home.
