Mark Andrew Allen is an American artist, painter and graphic designer born in Houston, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in commercial art from Texas State University and later continued studying at Parson’s School of Design in New York and at Art Center College of Design in California.
Allen’s work uses the language of urban street art blended with his background in mixed media college, abstract expressionism, cubism and typography to form a narrative of our modern day culture. Allen’s artwork is in many notable collections and has been exhibited around the world—including two installations in the Rockefeller Center windows in New York. Having learned the art of hand-lettering from his commercial artist father, Allen went on to design award-winning logos for feature films and record labels, as well as promotional work for major brands and entertainment studio.
