Caia Koopman is a leading lady artist in the US Pop Surrealism movement. She studied BA Fine Art at the University of California, Santa Cruz - whilst being a skateboarding and 80’s punk rocker. It’s that juxtapose that is so evident in her art today, as she captures 21st century ‘girl power’, alongside a mix of classic and iconic elements from vintage and modern life, social comment and regularly nature and the environment. There’s a ying and yang to it all that appears so effortlessly balanced. Caia continues to live in Santa Cruz where the college town’s youthful energy still provides inspiration for her art.
